ChitoClot Bandage
Non-woven dressing designed for trauma bleeding control to facilitate wound healing.
Chitosan-based Hemostatic Bandage
A chitosan non-woven layer inside the Anscare ChitoClot Bandage accelerates the formation of blood clots and exhibits excellent results on rapid hemorrhage control caused by trauma. The central non-woven layer also provides a moist surrounding for wound care purposes. Convenient back-sheet design is easy to use and prevents infection.
Benefits
- 100% Chitosan non-woven contact layer actives the blood coagulation

For post-catheterization hemostasis (ex: dialysis site, catheter sites)
Hemorrhage control for surgical incision
Trauma (ex: laceration, abrasion, burn, scald)
Animal Experimentation
Study: Acute open-wound healing effect of ChitoClot Bandage vs. other commercially available wound dressings
A Sprague Dawley rat was used as the animal model to analyze the wound-healing effect of our ChitoClot Bandage vs. other commercially available wound dressings. A 1.5x1.5 cm2 open wound deep to the muscle layer was created on the back of the rat using a scalpel, and a piece of ChitoClot Bandage or other dressing was applied onto the wound. As shown in Fig. 1 and 2, the ChitoClot Bandage demonstrated a superior wound contraction effect vs. other dressings (regular gauze, Ag-alginate dressing, and hydrogel dressing) in the early healing phase (days 1-3). No dispersion, residue, or stain was observed as the ChitoClot Bandage was removed. From the histological evaluation, the ChitoClot Bandage showed better epidermal regeneration, angiogenesis, and high-density of tissue regeneration, as compared to other dressing groups (Fig. 3) — National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan.
